Our First Day in Bacolod

Friday, 7th October 2011

We went downstairs to the restaurant for a buffet breakfast. There were six of on four chairs around a small square table. We eventually worked out where the food was and managed to find food for all. The children feasted on the cereal, Sarah tried the soup – not good. Mum had toast (marmalade again) and I ate too many eggs.

Bro Frans arranged to meet us at 10:00am, at 10:30am I messaged him to find out that they would not be arriving until 12:00pm, so we walked to the SM mall for some shopping. Sarah managed to buy childrens books cheap, they are damaged store stock, but perfectly suitable for us. Then the children each had a ride on either a carousel or the small train that ran around the mall. Mum and I thought that we would treat ourselves to a coffee. In the name of consistency – the coffee was awful, it was as weak as water and in fact looked a bit like water. Then we decided to have some lunch at Greenwich (a pizza and pasta restaurant), after eating way too much food last night I decided that two small pizzas would do for the whole family, and only two small pieces each. Silas thought that his throat had been cut, and the others all were quietly disappointed. But about half an hour later we were fed and happy. Frans, Felcris, Ronnie, Julie along with Lovely and others all had their lunch at the next restaurant along.

Bro Ronnie took us all back to his house in the green Delica! We enjoyed everyone's company and went swimming at the local swimming pool. That was fun.

Yes, it was deep...in parts

The children went for a walk down the street with Lovely and Bro Felcris and Matt to burn some more energy. Lovely is lovely! It was great to see her again after 8 years. She even remembered us. She is planning on becoming a nurse, and will take her Board Exam in December, God willing. She will make an excellent nurse.

After dinner, we held a Bible Study on Taking Our Inheritance - Joshua 15. Lots of discussion, it was really encouraging. As mum says, it was very hard travelling here, but at the end we found a little gem of an ecclesia!
