Party Day!

Saturday, 15th October 2011

We spent a quiet and relaxing morning at the Espareto home. The children were entertained for a few hours by watching Toy Story 1&2. I managed to check the emails and finalise our accommodation for Manila.

Silas and I took turns riding the fold-up bike up and down the street and Sarah, Mum and Noah went for a short walk with Sis Evelyn to get their exercise.
After enjoying lunch together (pizzas and salad and other stuffs) we returned to Bugallon hall in time to join the celebrations of Jonathan Jnr's 1st birthday. The hall was full of people, adults and children, who we didn't know and the kitchen was a hive of activity. Huge dishes of pancit and spaghetti were being prepared, along with mini hotdogs and of course the fancy birthday cake. Everyone had lots of fun, although I'm not sure how much of it Jonathan Jnr understood. The children played a game to collect their lolly bags, which ended up being the adults getting the bags for the children.

There were other birthdays being celebrated too: Frans, Joel, Cesar, Jinky and Adino. So guess what? More food, oodles upon noodles of food, just in case you were still hungry. Matt gave a talk on “What it means to be a Christian” The brothers and sisters thought the talk was very clear and seemed pleased, as they had specifically asked for something like that for the “outsiders” as they call them.

More food, even vegemite sandwiches, which Felcris tried and decided he liked.

How does it taste?

Not bad

I like it - I could eat this every day

Then we played games until very late. Silas enjoyed joining the adults in playing Truth or Consequence. We learnt some very interesting things as everyone but Cesar chose truth when it was their turn.

It was a very happy day of celebrations. We enjoyed ourselves and we hope everyone else did too. As the finale to a wonderful day, everyone slept at the hall, so we had mattresses and mosquito nets everywhere, and we were lulled to sleep by Felcris and Tina singing Sunday School songs together.
