Sunday School and Memorial Meeting at Bataan

Sunday, 25th September 2011

It was arranged that someone would collect us at 7:00am to take us to Sunday School. We sat down for breakfast at 7:00am, and fortunately no one arrived until 8:30am. So by then we were all warmed and filled, and ready to go.

Sis Nora came and collected us with two trikes and took us to the Sunday School, which is held in a rented room (the meeting is held in the same place). There were about 25 children at sunday school.  It was very well run by a young bro & sis. We joined in by asking questions and contributing to the songs that we knew. Everyone enjoyed the merianda afterwards.

Then we took two trikes back to Hillside Mansion for lunch and to collect the rest of our bags, and then once again we returned to the rented room for the Memorial Meeting.

Silas got to "drive" the trike down the highway, and we survived!

It was good to meet all the Bre & Sis, and upon seeing Bro Richard I recognised him immediately. Richard holds his own Sunday School at his house which is “less than two hours away”, in the morning and then drives (with his son and aunty) to Balanga for the meeting in the afternoon. I did the exhort on the subject of prayer (Luke 18). Noah finally fell asleep on Sarah's lap just as the meeting was finishing. After some refreshments and a good chat we sat down again for a short lecture/first principles talk on the trinity. Sarah only allowed 15mins, and Bro Richard assured everyone that it was all done in less than 15mins.

After all our goodbye's, Richard drove us to the bus terminal. This air-cond bus took us all the way down to Manila. It got very cold on the bus and were all very glad when it arrived. Silas was trying to cuddle me to keep warm. They were trying to show a DVD on the bus called “Priest” which is about vampires, all the kids were trying to watch it. I was glad when not far into the movie it kept skipping backwards and repeating itself, so the DVD was changed (to Big Momma or something like that) and everyone was happy. Finally we took a cab to the Shalom Center and booked into two rooms.

The time was just after 9:30pm and we were all hungry, so Felcris, Silas and myself went off in search of food. We came back with fish and chips from Flapjacks. The food was just “ok” and didn't really match the price tag – but at least we were all fed and happy. It was 11:00pm before the children got to bed, so I hope that they sleep in. I tried to get the wireless connection working, but couldn't, so I gave up and went to sleep.
