Silas had a high temperature last night, and very thirsty, so was Matt. Very glad Noah slept all night. After giving Silas more medicine and getting him a drink (falling asleep in between moans of pain), then I said I was going to the toilet, and Silas informed me (in a rather loud voice) that he needed to go too, and as we were leaving the room (quietly, of course), Matt said “Where are you going?” and then he said “Wait for me”, so we three proceeded to the toilet together – what a lovely family outing in the middle of the night.
Jinky was gone before we got up this morning, and Sis Consing left quite early after doing the dishes, so we lazed around and eventually I decided to cook bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. We administered more medicine to the sick people and very slowly got the washing done – takes a lot of energy to pump the handle to the water pump when you're not feeling well! We got all the washing done, hung out and draped over the hedges and then the rain started – heavy rain too, so we all dashed out to save the washing, and so did Laida from next door.
Laida came into the hall with Cally to check if anyone was there to cook our lunch, otherwise she would be the one. We told her that Silas was not well. She had a look at his rash on his legs and then asked him if he had a headache and had vomited. He did have a headache, and had felt like vomiting. Apparently he had all the symptoms of Dengue Fever, so we were advised to watch him, and if he was still like it tomorrow, to tell Jinky so we could get him checked out – great!
Laida contacted Jinky who was in Lingayen, and she offered to get some medicine for Silas, which was great, because we are out of children's paracetomol. Jinky came back from Lingayen in time for lunch, and said she was going to Dagupan at 2.00pm to look for some fabric for Dorcas as she couldn't find the right colour in Lingayen. Mum, Eden and I decided to go with her, and do a little shopping of our own.
Wow, what an afternoon of shopping and jeepney rides. Time got away from us, and we arrived back at the hall at 7.00pm, with Jonathan and Jodel there waiting for the Bible readings. Matt, the chef had tea all prepared, spaghetti bolognese with a difference! It was declared masarap and second helpings were had by all the boys.
What did the boys do this afternoon?
Noah went to sleep soon after the girls left and he slept until 5:00. Silas and I drew pictures in his scrapbook. We read some chapters from On the Banks of Plum Creek. We had a rest on the mattresses in the hall for a while. Then I started to look for ingredients that I could use for tea. Silas played games on the phone for a while, then he took some pictures with the camera. When Noah woke up they both looked at old photos on the computer. Cesar, Layda and Callie joined in looking at pictures for a while. To help with the male bonding we shared a bottle of Pop Cola together.
Jinky had forecast the return of the girls at 7:00, so at 7:00 exactly I turned off the stove and began serving the food.

The Bible readings were done after tea, lots of discussion – it is so good to see people thirsty for a knowledge of the scriptures.
Very tired tonight, most of us were glad to go to bed, while Matt and Jonathan were still deep in discussion.
