A big day shopping and a big day resting

Friday, 12 August 2011

I began the day by taking some photos of the surrounding scenery, don't go looking for them though, they are stuck inside the big camera and at 12Mb ea I am not about to try loading them onto the net.

Sarah and Christina travelled to Dagupan to buy supplies. This was originally going to happen in the morning, however it was postponed until after lunch. This gave me time to wander around the grounds armed with my can of WD40 that I had previously bought. The water pump and the window hinges were the main beneficiaries of my WD40, although Cesar's tricycle also received a small dose.

After lunch Sarah and Christina left on the bus. I took some time to prepare my exhortation for Sunday, while Noah took some time to study the back of his eyelids.

As soon as Christina left we got out the washing machine – and mum got to work getting some washing on. Once my exhort was ready Silas and myself went out to get the notes printed. We took a jeepney to Mangtaking and Dorcas. Having only been there once before we were not really sure where to get off, is turns out that we got off too soon and ended up walking most of the way – I think that the jeepney driver thought we were a little silly (how does the saying go – only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun) Bro Jodell accompanied us to the internet/printing shop. We printed two copies and gave one of them to Bro Jonathan, he will be the one who translates the exhort on Sunday.

It is quite sunny today, most of the sky is clear.

When the girls arrived back, Sarah was looking pretty frustrated. It turns out they had taken two jeepneys home from Dagupan, rather than the one bus, so the trip was about ½ an hour longer, with the meat and dairy products out of refrigeration for well over an hour!

Sis Jinky is going to Manila tomorrow, getting up at 1.30am, so she is not sleeping at the hall, instead Sis Christina asked if Sis Laarni & Sis Yvonne would stay with her. They came about 8.30pm and we did the readings together. Sarah went to bed to help Noah go to sleep and fell asleep herself, so she did not join us for the readings.

We are starting to feel at home here, feeling more comfortable with everything - even the cold showers!

Just started looking for some photos of todays happenings, but alas, there are none that are able to be shared on here :-)
