A Quiet, Relaxing Day

Wednesday, 10th August 2011

Woke up before we were ready to again, as the children were ready for a new day. The children slept a lot better last night, Eden only woke up once, and Noah only about 3 times – the first time he fell out of bed taking the mosquito net with him. He does not like to sleep under the mosquito net, so he will probably get a few more mosquito bites than the rest of us, luckily the dengue fever mosquitos are only active in the day. There have been a surprisingly low number of mosquitos around – they are mainly in the toilet/bathroom area.

Breakfast this morning was fried eggs and sweet bread and very runny strawberry jam. Matt still having trouble with the amount of sugar and salt in the food, I have noticed a great difference in the quality of the food served, and the type of food is very western compared to last time we were here, the amount of plain rice served is very small this time, still trying to work out whether they are serving different food because we are here or this is how they eat now.

Both Sis Jinky and Sis Tina had to work today, so we have been left to ourselves, although Bro Cesar and Sis Laida are available if we need anything. Eden did the dishes this morning and Mum did some hand washing, although Sis Tina told us to stop and she would show us how to use the washing machine this afternoon when she returns from work. So that will make things a little easier, we are starting to run out of clothes.

Silas and Eden were invited over to Ceser and Laida's house and have spent the morning there, watching TV, which has made things very quiet here. Have spent time talking at the kitchen table, and updating the diary, while Matt is preparing for the Bible Study tonight. It is very nice to have a relaxing morning.

Mum is going shopping for cereals etc for breakfast, so hopefully she is back by 6.00pm for the Bible study, Matt is sleeping and Noah has just woken up after a 2-3 hour sleep, so off I go...

Back again...
Matt gave Bible study on Joel 1, the 1st in a series of 4 studies, everyone seemed to find it interesting, making notes in their margins, and afterwards bro Jonathan asked Matt lots of questions about prophecy.

I found that it was hard to follow, and I was the one who was giving the study! (esp. trying to decipher my poor writing on an old blackboard)

Schedules are very loose here, and dinner was not until 7.30pm, so of course the children were ready for bed, and too tired to behave properly. So we were very glad when they finally went to sleep.

Hopefully everyone sleeps well tonight. We plan to visit Sta Barbara tomorrow and have texted bro Jonny DeVera to be our guide and translator.
