Off to Bugallon

Monday, 8th August 2011

We are leaving Manila today. We are all beginning to wonder why we are over here again, and do we really want to leave Shalom Center.

At 11:00am (as scheduled) Sis Jinky arrived with the van to take us back to Bugallon.

We arrived about 3:30pm along with a short rain storm. It was surprisingly familiar to be back at Bugallon Hall.

We were welcomed by Sisters Cristina and Consuelo with a delicious lunch of spaghetti bolognese and icy cold Coke© at 3.30pm. Fortunately my appetite had somewhat returned and I was able to eat lunch.

After lunch we settled into our rooms, set up the mosquito nets and unpacked our bags.

A Bible study was scheduled for 6:30, this was postponed to give time for Sis Evelyn Espareto (and two of her children) to arrive.

Teacher while at Bugallon Ecclesia
Three young sisters, Yvonne, Layani and Catherine and two young brothers Jonathan and Jodell were also at the hall, the brethren were operating the whipper-snipper, giving the grass a hair cut.

We ate some tea (more spaghetti, lechon manuk ie fried chicken).

After dinner we held the Bible study – at last I was able to do a full study (Matt 7, with more detail – a much more encouraging study).

Sis Consuelo speaks English very well, generally the older generation here are not so fluent, and rather reticent to communicate in English, we later found out that Sis Consuelo was a teacher for 35 years!

Sis Evelyn and her family arrived at the hall on a trike. When they left, she said it would take them 1 hour to get home, and her son had lessons starting at 7.00am the next morning, so it was VERY nice of them to make the trip out to welcome us.

Off to bed again... hopefully everyone sleeps well tonight.
