We have arrived...

Tuesday, 2nd August 2011

We are all here. The flight from Australia to Kuala Lumper was good, and the rest at the hotel overnight helped refresh us all. The flight from KL to Manila was not so good, the last hour was a little turbulent, and as we circled the Manila airport again-and-again it was quite turbulent.

Having pre-booked our accomodation we also had a driver waiting for us at the airport which made it quite easy to leave the airport.

The accomodation at the Shalom Center is clean and comfortable. The furniture reminds me of something that my father would make – strong and functional, but not necessarily asthetic. Finished in a nice gloss enamel paint (mint green).

Listening to Grandma read a favourite story - Farmer Boy

Noah enjoying playing with a glow worm toy given by Aunty Edith

Live power point in the shower cubicle above our heads - not sure why????

We have purchased mobile phones with local SIM's to contact the Bre & Sis over here.

Robinson's seems larger than before, so many shops. Jolibee for tea Tuesday night! Robinson's Supermarket has almost everything you would expect in Australia (it's just that some of the food is a little odd, like the 100% honey that tastes exactly like treacle). They even had two jars of Vegemite on the shelves - a lot cheaper than in Australia.

To bed early tonight, everyone is exhausted, probably our body clocks haven't adjusted yet.
